Mark Mulholland is a travelling singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer, whose musical peregrinations have taken him from his native Scotland through most of Europe and North America, via Haiti and Mali, where he lived for several years, and now to France.
His influences include Celtic folk, country, reggae, blues, jazz, rock and punk, and beside acoustic and electric guitar, he also turns his hand to other stringed instruments including banjo, mandola, bouzouki, bass and lap steel guitar.

THE STRANGE ENCOUNTERS
An adventurous mixture of jangly Folk, Blues and Rock ‚n‘ Roll from the psychedelic heart of Berlin. Based on the compositions and close harmony vocals of Guido Kreutzmüller and Joe Armstrong, THE STRANGE ENCOUNTERS take you on a trip with songs shining with pure beauty and craftsmanship.
Featuring songs from their forthcoming debut album ALL IN THE MIND (Ports of Call Music) plus some favourite covers, the bands‘ live set provides a wide range of twists and styles, raw, mature, unpolished and cool. In this year’s fète duo line-up, Kreutzmüller and Armstrong sparking the flame with intimate versions of their song catalogue, stripped down to acoustic and electric guitars and piano (sometimes). Be it quiet or loud, seated or dancing – THE STRANGE ENCOUNTERS are a pure joy to experience.

Wer aufmerksam durch Berlin stolpert hat es mitbekommen, die Stadt ist ein Magnet für junge, verrückte, talentierte und interessante Musiker. Mit etwas Glück sieht man auf der Warschauer Brücke oder in einem Kneipenhinterzimmer an einem Abend mehr Talent als das ganze Jahr im Fernsehen.
Wir wollen diesen Musikern eine Bühne geben.
