Her work focuses on relationships between the body\, materiality\, sound and space – mining tensions between failure and fluency\, and absence and presence. As a performer\, she is known for her pioneering approach with her electronically-processed accordion\, and investigation of embodiment and chance with an array of sonic materials: amplified objects and drawing tools; electronic feedback; and acoustic\, electric\, and custom-built software instruments\, Parkins projects include multi-channel sound installations; electronic music compositions; electroacoustic performances; and sound for contemporary dance\, experimental film and intermedia performance. Her work has been presented at venues and festivals including the Whitney Museum of American Art\, Experimental Intermedia (NYC)\, Café Oto\, Labor Sonor\, Kunsthalle Basel\, NEXT (Bratislava)\, Kunsthall Bergen\, Music Unlimited (Wels)\, Akousma Festival (Montreal)\, and many more. Parkins recordings are published by Important Records\, Confront Recordings\, Atavistic\, Henceforth Records\, Infrequent Seams\, and Creative Sources\, and she can be heard as a contributor on numerous other labels. She has been an invited resident artist at the Rauschenberg Residency (US); Elektronmusikstudion Stockholm (EMS)\, Performing Arts Forum (FR)\, Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center (US)\, and by Frei und Hanseastadt Hamburg Kulturbehoerde.  \nwww.andreaparkins.com   \nIgnaz Schick (*1972) is a Berlin based sound/visual artist\, composer/performer\, and curator of festivals/events. He also performs as an instrumentalist on turntables\, objects\, live-electronics\, alto saxophone & flutes. In his youth he studied the saxophone and since his teenage days performed in free jazz and avant rock bands. At the same time he was getting obsessed with multitrack tape machines\, record players & effect boxes & he started experimenting with different electro-acoustic set-ups & sound making devices. After college he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich & worked for several years as an assistant for the contemporary composer Josef Anton Riedl. Since 1995 he lives & works in Berlin where he became an active and integral force of the so-called “Berlin Nouvelle Vague” and the blossoming “experimental” music scene. He has been also prolific as curator (Festival für Andere Musik\, Erase & Reset\, Time Shifts\, TITO- The International Turntable Orchestra 2009 & 2019\, Echtzeitmusiktage 2010\, Flux Festival 2018\, Fuchsfest 2021\, Reflux Festival 2022\, …) & runs the experimental music label Zarek. \nSchick has toured worldwide solo or with various groups & ensembles & has collaborated with more than a hundred international sonic artists – amongst others with Mwata Bowden\, Don Cherry\, Douglas Ewart\, Sven-Ake Johansson\, Paul Lovens\, Toshimaru Nakamura\, Charlemagne Palestine\, Andrea Parkins\, Keith Rowe\, Akira Sakata or Martin Tetréault. DESCRIPTION:Thursday sounds like … Sara Romano & Elisa Erin Bonomo & Luca Burgio\n\n \n\n\n\n\nSara Romano\, born in Palermo in 1985\, began her career as a singer and musician in 2006 dealing with popular music\, country blues\, irish music and pop americana. In 2009 she decided to release her songs as a songwriter and along her career she performed in Italy\, Belgium\, Ireland\, Germany and other places of EU\, USA and Canada\, collaborating with other artists\, like Bocephus King\, Skye Wallace\, Andrea Ramolo\, Marco Corrao\, etc.\, and making several tours along the years. She released 1 EP (La parte Migliore\, 2014) 2 album (Ciricò\, 2016\, and Saudagorìa\, 2019) and a singol (SafePlace\, 2020). She’s actually working at her third album. DESCRIPTION:Thursday sounds like … Steve Wallis\n\n \n\n\nFolk singer-songwriter Steve Wallis was raised in Byron Bay\, Australia\, but after spending more than a decade playing in bands around the country\, he relocated to Paris\, France in 2014.  Steve Wallis writes vital\, clear eyed folk songs\, driven by his shrewd fingerpicked guitar\, and a disarming mix of wry wit\, potent honesty and bittersweet sadness in his writing that recalls Townes Van Zandt\, John Prine\, or Justin Townes Earle. \n\nSteve performs solo\, telling stories and singing songs\, with his little Guild guitar\, his harmonicas and his voice slipping between delicacy and gruff candour\, the perfect vehicle to traverse the timeless and ever-potent topics of new loves\, lost loves\, old homes\, old friends. \nHis debut solo album ‘Nothing Stays The Same Way For Long’ releases September 16 2022. \nhttps://www.stevewallismusic.com/about \n— \nAbout the record\nSince the release of Melbourne Rain\, Steve’s most popular release to date\, he has been performing around Europe\, but it was in upstate New York\, at a writing retreat hosted by folk duo The Milk Carton Kids\, that Steve met English songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Joe Boon\, and the pair began working on demos that would form the foundation of his first full-length LP Nothing Stays The Same Way For Long. \nRecording plans were inevitably put on hold throughout 2020 until late 2021 when Steve travelled to North Devon\, England and the pair spent six weeks recording the album. Much was recorded in Joe’s small project studio\, as well as in three local churches who donated their reverb to create swathes of room-filling drums and elegiac piano. The closing\, and title track\, was recorded live in a small church in Georgeham. The pair recorded almost everything between them\, trading the roles of engineer and musician\, and were joined on several tracks for harmonies sung by Bryony Lewis and Kara McKee. A few final pieces were delivered from a distance: saxophones by Bruce King; pedal steel by Jon Graboff; pump organ by Dan Walker and fiddle by MorganEve Swain. Joe mixed it\, and it was mastered by Doug Van Sloun in Omaha\, Nebraska. \nThroughout the raw and stripped back directness of The Wolf; to the sprawling walls of vocals\, drums\, slide guitars and mellotron on Now I Don’t and the hymn-like stillness of Nothing Stays The Same Way For Long\, Steve’s aching voice and stirring lyricism punch through. In the final track\, Steve reflects on fleeting times far away in the Catskill Mountains: “I found a piece of heaven and I wrapped it in a cloth”. He has done something similar with this LP.
