DESCRIPTION:ThursdaySounds like The Strange Encounters\nRecord Releas Show Part 2\n\n\n\nPart Two of the The Strange Encounters‘ record release shows for „All in the Mind“\, out on Ports of Call Music and Subjangle\, from April 26 (observable universe) and June 7 (UK) in all popular formats. You can’t repeat it often enough\, can you?\nAs from now on we are only playing in packed theaters or empty stadiums\, the TiK Nord over yonder in Friedrichshain appeared to be an appropriate venue. We are delighted to have our friends and label mates MULHOLLAND\, CONDRON\, DOUCERAIN supporting us on this night. In case you guys aren’t ready for that yet\, but your kids are gonna love it.\n \nAnd so\, what does the labels say?\n„An adventurous mixture of jangly Folk\, Blues and Rock ‚n‘ Roll from the psychedelic heart of Berlin.“\nBased on the compositions and close harmony vocals of singer/songwriters GUIDO KREUTZMÜLLER and JOE ARMSTRONG\, THE STRANGE ENCOUNTERS take you on a trip with songs shining with pure beauty and craftsmanship.\nFounded in 2018 the band has since played numerous gigs around Germany until the pandemic ground every­thing­ to a halt. Everything? Not really. During eases in lock down the band dug down in their own attic studio in Berlin together with producer THOMAS WOSNITZA to record ALL IN THE MIND\, their first longplayer.\n \nReleased on April 26 (world) and June 7\, 2024 (UK) on French label PORTS OF CALL MUSIC and South African label SUBJANGLE\, this record squares the circle. In the respectable experiment of combining jangly Folk Pop tradition and bluesy Rock ‚n‘ Roll with psychedelic soundscapes and „artfremd“ improvisations\, THE STRANGE ENCOUNTERS succeed in a seemingly effortless way. An album for the big screen: cohesive\, surprising\, multilayered.\nKreutzmüller and Armstrong are excellent observers\, each with his own angle and background. In their lyrics they paint complex pictures\, full of desire\, sensitivity and selfawareness. Their stories come from a place of love as well as from the fascination for the everyday life and its characters. They tell of the big and small delusions and confusions in human relationships\, as well as describing the social dislocations happen­ing next door\, looking right into the abyss of the human soul in changing times. If the album seems to fall out of time\, then it‘s perfectly­ placed in the early 21st century. It‘s all in the mind.\n \nAs a touring band with sparkling guitars backed by a powerful rythm section around drummer BORIS FUST and bassist KAI FRESE\, the bands‘ live set provides a wide range of twists and styles\, raw\, mature\, unpolished and cool. In the „Jr.“-version as duo line-up\, Kreutzmüller and Armstrong sparking the flame with intimate versions of their song catalogue\, stripped down to acoustic and electric guitars and piano. Be it quiet or loud\, seated or dancing – THE STRANGE ENCOUNTERS are a pure joy to experience.\n\n\n \nWird ein schöner Abend im Tik !!!\n\n \n \nTHURSDAY SOUNDS: – Singer/Songwriter Konzerte im Tik\, ab 21.00 Uhr\nJeden Donnerstag ein Konzert mit einem Singer/Songwriter oder einer kleinen Band.\nWer aufmerksam durch Berlin stolpert\, hat es mitbekommen\, die Stadt ist ein Magnet für junge\, verrückte\, talentierte und interessante Musiker. Mit etwas Glück sieht man auf der Warschauer Brücke oder in einem Kneipenhinterzimmer an einem Abend mehr Talent als das ganze Jahr im Fernsehen.\nWir wollen diesen Musikern eine Bühne geben.\n \nTHURSDAY SOUNDS:\nEvery Thursday we have a concert with a Singer/Songwriter or a small band.\nIt’s Berlin nowadays: The City has become a magnet to musicians from all over the world or from just around the corner. Creatvity and talent is on the street playing for small change\, on the stages of open mics or maybe in the bar in your street.\nThe Tik has a stage for these musicians\, every thursday.
