DESCRIPTION:Experimentik #61\nSolo: Eiko Yamada – descant – and bass recorder \nSolo: Bryan Eubanks „Songbook“ – saxophone\, electronics \nSolo: Michiko Ogawa – clarinet\, electornics \ndoors: 20:00 / start: 20:30 \n \n\n\n\nEiko Yamada (Blockflöte) Geboren 1957 in Tokyo/Japan\, lebt seit 1984 in Deutschland.\nSeit ihrem Musikstudienaufenthalt 1979-1981 in Berlin (darunter 1979-1980 als Stipendiatin des Japanischen Kultusministeriums) sucht sie nach neuen musikalischen Gestaltungsformen und deren ästhetischen Grundlagen. Improvisation als eine wichtige Möglichkeit dafür betrachtend sammelt sie Erfahrungen in diesem Bereich in verschiedenen internationalen Formationen (solo bis Großbesetzung wie im Ensemble X)\, auch in der Zusammenarbeit mit bildenden KünstlerInnen\, TänzerInnen und Lyrikerinnen\, ebenso wie im Zusammenhang mit verschiedenen Materialien und architektonischen Gegebenheiten des Raumes\, und dies besonders in der Arbeit der Gruppe ExTempore\, Berlin. Die Gruppe erhielt 1990 und 1993 Kompositionsaufträge der Senatsverwaltung für kulturelle Angelegenheiten Berlin sowie 1997/98 einen Kompositionspreis beim Chorwettbewerb des Deutschen Musikrats.\nIhr fortwährendes Bedürfnis\, weitere authentisch-persönliche Klänge mit ihren Instrumenten zu entdecken und zu entwickeln\, stützt sich auf jene Sensibilität\, die sie durch solche jahrelange experimentelle und spartenübergreifendeArbeit erworben hat. \nphoto © Urs Schmid \n\n————————- \nBryan Eubanks (b. 1977\, US) develops his music through solo work and collaboration. Since 1999 he has participated in many short and long term projects\, and regularly presents his work internationally. Continually active in a variety of contexts: improvisation; composing electronic and acoustic musical events for small ensembles\, solo instruments\, computers\, and electronics; organizing and curating concerts for other artists; building electronic instruments. \nwww.sacredrealism.org/bryaneubanks \n\n—————— \nMichiko Ogawa is a performer-composer specialising in the clarinet\, born and raised in Tokyo\, Japan. She performs not only classical repertoire but also contemporary and experimental musics\, including free improvisation and film soundtrack work. She is also working with Hammond organ and  „sho“; Japanese bamboo organ. \nShe also has been collaborating with musicians Samuel Dunscombe\, Taku Sugimoto\, James Rushford\, Carolyn Chen\, Golden Fur\, Manuel Lima\, Lucy Railton\, Jonny Chang and Klaus Lang. She also frequently collaborates with visual artists\, such Angela Jennings\, Lindsay Bloom\, Brianna Rigg\, Laurence Favre and Sabina Maselli. She is one of the core members of the collectively oriented Harmonic Space Orchestra in Berlin since 2019. \nAs a researcher\, she has been researching about Teiji Ito\, a Japanese-American performer and composer based in New York City since 2015\, and received a DMA for his dissertation focusing on Teiji Ito’s film music.
