DESCRIPTION:Thursday sounds like … Marla & David Celia\n \nBerauschender\, sommerlicher 70er-Vibe\, Spector-artige Drumbeats und geklimperte Akkorde mit einem Schuss Nilsson-Exzentrizität – Marla & David Celia sind mit ihrem zweiten Album „Indistinct Chatter“ bald wieder auf Tour. Mit duettigen Gesangsharmonien im Vordergrund tauchen sie durch progressive Akkordwechsel\, aufwendige Arrangements und runden das Ganze mit gut ausgearbeiteten Balladen ab. Die Texte kreisen um unser Leben in der Gegenwart\, in Zeiten der Überproduktion\, der Gier der Konzerne und der heutigen Wegwerfkultur\, des Kapitalismus und der Sehnsucht nach Veränderung.\nMusik brachte Marla & David Celia zusammen\, als sie sich 2015 bei einem Festival trafen. Sie teilten sich die Bühne für einige Shows in Deutschland und begannen ganz natürlich\, sich gegenseitig zu begleiten. Ihre Chemie war magnetisch und bald produzierte David Marla’s erste Platte in seinem Studio in Kanada. Zur gleichen Zeit veröffentlichte er sein neuestes Soloalbum und sie begannen\, in ganz Europa zu spielen. Nicht nur ihre Gesangsharmonien vermischten sich warm\, sondern auch ihre Liebe zueinander und sie begannen\, als Duo Musik zu schreiben und aufzunehmen. Ihr Debüt Daydreamers (2018) hat sie von L.A. über Russland bis hin zu Englands berühmtem Glastonbury Festival geführt. In den letzten 6 Jahren haben sie gemeinsam über 800\nShows gespielt.\n \nHeady\, summery ’70s vibe\, Spector-esque drumbeats and strummed chords with a splash of Nilsson eccentricity – Marla & David Celia are soon back on tour with their second album „Indistinct Chatter“. With duet vocal harmonies in the foreground\, they dive through progressive chord changes\, elaborate arrangements and round it all off with well-crafted ballads. The lyrics circle around our lives in the present\, during times of overproduction\, corporate greed and today’s disposable culture\, capitalism and the desire to see change. Music brought Marla & David Celia together when they met at a festival in 2015. They later shared the stage for other shows in Germany and naturally started accompanying each other. Their chemistry was magnetic and soon David was producing Marla’s first record at his studio in Canada. He also released his latest solo album during that time which lead to their continued performances all over Europe. Not only did their vocal harmonies blend warmly\, but so did their love for one another and they began writing and recording music as a duo. Their debut Daydreamers (2018) has taken them from L.A. to Russia and England’s famous Glastonbury Festival. Mit etwas Glück sieht man auf der Warschauer Brücke oder in einem Kneipenhinterzimmer an einem Abend mehr Talent als das ganze Jahr im Fernsehen.\nWir wollen diesen Musikern eine Bühne geben.\nTHURSDAY SOUNDS:\nEvery Thursday we have a concert with a Singer/Songwriter or a small band.\nIt’s Berlin nowadays: The City has become a magnet to musicians from all over the world or from just around the corner. Creatvity and talent is on the street playing for small change\, on the stages of open mics or maybe in the bar in your street.\nThe Tik has a stage for these musicians\, every thursday\n \n
